How it works

Three steps, then it runs itself.

  1. Step 1: Add your app

Name, a one-line pitch, an icon. A person reviews it before it's shown anywhere.

  2. Step 2: Paste two lines

Put the slot where it fits: a sidebar, a feed, the end of a post. It picks up your colors and your font.

  3. Step 3: Get shown back

Your card shows up on other makers' sites. Earned views clear after 72 hours, and every one is in your ledger.

Show ten. Get eight.

Your widget shows other makers' apps on your pages. Theirs show yours. Nobody pays anybody.

Your slot. Your style.

Put the card where it fits your layout: a sidebar, a feed, the end of a post. It fills the space you give it and picks up your colors and your font, so it reads like part of the page.

In a docs sidebar. Matches the page: its text color, its monospace font, and a stacked layout for the narrow column.
In a side panel. A card in the blog's sidebar, in its serif font and paper, with the blog's own button color and nearly square corners.
Between changelog entries. Custom colors, set once in the dashboard.

Example sites. The cards are the real widget.

Set the look once in your dashboard, or per slot with an attribute on the tag. Whatever you choose, the card lives in its own shadow DOM so it can't touch your CSS, and it always says Sponsored: colors too faint to read that label are refused.

Founding cards

No. 22 is next.

The first 100 members get a numbered founding card. It takes the color of your app, and it's yours to post wherever your people are. There will never be another one with your number.

21 of 100 founding cards are taken. 79 left.

Your card takes the color of your app's category.

Fair questions.

What is AppAdSwap?

AppAdSwap is a free cross-promotion network for independent apps. You put a small card on your website that shows another maker's app, and your app is shown on their sites in return: for every 10 cards your site shows, your app is shown 8 times elsewhere.

Is it really free?

Yes. Swapping costs nothing, and you get 50 free views when your widget goes live. View packs and Pro are optional, for when you want reach faster than you can earn it.

What do my visitors see?

One small card for another indie app, styled like your page and always marked Sponsored. A person reviews every app first: no gambling, no crypto schemes, no "make money online". Read the guidelines

Does it track my visitors?

No cookies, no storage, no tracking pixels. Visitors are counted by a one-way hash that changes every day, and IPs are never stored.

Can it break my site?

The script loads async, and the card lives in its own shadow DOM, so it can't touch your CSS. It fills the slot you give it and nothing else.

Why 8 and not 10?

For every 10 cards your widget shows, your app is shown 8 times on other makers' pages. The other 2 go to the house and fund the 50 free views every new maker starts with. On Pro you get 9.

How do I see what I earned?

Every view is a row in your ledger: what moved, on which of your apps or sites, and when it clears. Earned views wait 72 hours before you can spend them, which is long enough to catch cheating. Clicks are never paid.
